FAMILY WRITING NIGHT SUCCESS
You've come to the right place to see the writing from Family Writing Night (FWN)! For hard copies we receive in the school office, we'll post them on a bulletin board in the hallway.

The purpose of FWN was to have parents and children experience the writing process together. During FWN we experienced:
- Prewriting - Books about places to play, brainstorming our own favorite play places, generating descriptive sensory words like what it smelled like, felt like, etc.
- Drafting - Initial writing about your favorite place to play. Some wrote stories. Others wrote poems.
- Sharing - Whoever wanted to share came to the front to read their writing. It was a lot of fun to hear/see what others came up with.
From the point where FWN ended, families could (and hopefully will) move on to:
- Revise their writing - Add, change, or remove something to make the writing clearer and descriptive
- Proofread and edit writing - Look for spelling, punctuation, capitalization errors and/or incomplete sentences
- Publish their writing - this can be done either via email or by sending a hard copy to school--or both!
Text and a picture/graphic (< 1MB in size) can be included.
As families share their writing and pictures, they'll be included here for everyone's enjoyment.
